JASON ROHLF
Jason Rohlf’s studio is a living archive and a working laboratory where the layered experience of modern life—the textures of the city, the noise of the digital, the whispers of memory—is translated into tactile, resonant form.
Here, each canvas becomes a site of accretion and excavation. Through an intuitive yet methodical process of layering paint, collage, ballpoint pen, and repurposed materials like shop rags, Rohlf constructs dense visual palimpsests. Hidden histories resurface; geometric order meets organic texture. The work is not just a painting, but a stratified record—a slowly unfolding timeline of a curious mind navigating the visual noise of contemporary existence.
What emerges is an energetic template: a built field of texture, history, and light that invites the viewer not just to look, but to enter.
